The Deputy Mayor Councillor Paul Dunlop BEM and Deputy Mayoress Mrs Heather Dunlop presented cheques this week to the Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice and Macmillan Cancer Support.
It followed the successful completion of their charity walk last month from Antrim Civic Centre to Mossley Mill, when Paul and Heather walked 13.7 miles in wet weather conditions.
The Deputy Mayor Cllr Paul Dunlop said; “It was a pleasure to present these cheques to two very deserving causes. Both charities have previously helped our families and we are delighted to be able to raise much needed funds to help support the great work they provide in our communities.”
The cheques were presented to Julie Martin from the Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice and Deirdre Tolton along with staff from the support team at the Macmillan Unit at Antrim Area Hospital.
Presenting the cheques Paul also said; “I would like to thank everyone who has donated funds and showed their support for Heather and I during this fundraiser. The work that these charities does is invaluable and we are absolutely thrilled to contribute to these great causes.”
