New Mentor and Capital Grant Programme for Businesses

Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council is helping local businesses unlock growth through the new Ask (Advice, Skills & Knowledge) Mentor and Capital Grant Programme. Local businesses can once again access expert one-to-one mentoring support, and now for the first time, financial assistance through the newly launched Ask Mentor and Capital Grant Programme. The programme offers up to 10 hours of free business mentoring and an 80% funded capital grant of up to £1,500.

Through the programme, businesses are matched with experienced mentors across five categories: Advanced Digital Technologies, Digital Infrastructure & Strategy, Innovation & Product Development, Business Strategy & Planning, and Sales & Marketing.

Following completion of mentoring, eligible businesses may be recommended to apply for the new Ask Capital Grant, helping the implementation of mentor recommendations through investment in software, systems, or other innovation-enabling technology.

Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor Leah Kirkpatrick commented,

“This programme demonstrates the Council’s commitment to supporting local enterprise at every stage of growth. Ask provides both the expertise and financial backing that small businesses need to innovate, build resilience, and thrive in an increasingly competitive economy. It helps businesses and social enterprises embrace innovation, adopt digital tools, and strengthen their competitiveness.”
