Northern Ireland Prison Service Receives Freedom of the Borough

King’s Award for Voluntary Service Presented to Mallusk Community Action Group

Mallusk Community Action Group (MCAG) has been awarded the prestigious King’s Award for Voluntary Service, the highest honour given to local voluntary groups in the UK, in recognition of its outstanding contribution to community life in the Mallusk area. The event welcomed 1,116 attendees and featured 54 exhibitors, with hundreds of people eager to explore education, training, and employment opportunities.

Council strikes one of the lowest rates increases across Northern Ireland

At a Special Council Meeting held on Monday 9 February, Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council struck the annual rate for 2026/27, applying a modest increase of 2.99% to the district rates. This is one of the lowest rates increases across all other Councils.
