Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council has successfully brought charges under the Dogs (Northern Ireland) Order 1983 (as amended) against the owner of an unlicensed dog.
Ms Azeitr Savage, from Crumlin, was identified as the owner of an unlicensed dog following an investigation by a Council Enforcement Officer. She was found guilty and was sentenced on 25 March 2026 at Antrim Magistrates Court, sitting in Ballymena.
Ms Savage did not attend the hearing and was fined £100, in addition to £200 costs, a £23 summons fee, and a £15 offender levy.
A Council spokesperson said:
"Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council gives a high priority to enforcing dog control legislation. Reports of unlicensed dogs are investigated thoroughly, and formal action, including prosecution, is taken where necessary, as demonstrated in this case."
