The academy will be held at Workforce Training Services, Belfast from Tuesday 1 until Friday 4 September 2026. It will begin with a Welcome Day on 1 September 2026, from 10am–1.30pm, with the main programme running 2–4 September 2026, from 9.30am–12.30pm each day.
Funded by the Department for Communities (DfC), Labour Market Partnerships create targeted employment action plans for council areas, allowing for collaboration at local and regional levels to support people towards and into work.
Participants will develop essential workplace skills and industry knowledge through a combination of accredited training and practical learning. On completion of the programme, participants will also have the opportunity to undertake forklift licence training, helping them take the next step towards a career in warehousing and logistics.
Training includes:
- Manual Handling
- Customer Service Skills
- COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health)
- Health & Safety in the workplace
- First Aid at Work
- Employability support, including CV development and interview preparation.
The programme will conclude with a dedicated employability session focused on CV preparation and interview techniques, with participants also having the opportunity to interview with local employers from the warehousing and logistics sector.
