Each organisation provides vital support to people across our communities, helping individuals and families through some of life's most difficult challenges. I am looking forward to the fundraising initiatives planned throughout the year and hope to raise much-needed funds to support the invaluable services they provide.”
Founded in 2017, ALPS provides direct access to therapeutic counselling, accredited suicide prevention training, and early intervention across schools, sports clubs, and workplaces. Operating from main hubs in Counties Antrim and Down, alongside regional satellite centres. ALPS delivers targeted community support, building local resilience and offering compassionate care for bereaved families.
Across Northern Ireland, in every postcode and community, Marie Curie supports people and their loved ones through all aspects of dying, death and bereavement. Our frontline nursing care, hospice and support line is there to support people whether they have cancer, dementia or any terminal illness. Using our decades of experience and leading research, we continuously adapt and innovate services to ensure they are best meeting the needs of the people who need us, when they need us most.
Brainwaves NI, established in 1994, is volunteer-led and the only Northern Ireland brain tumour charity. They are committed to changing the outlook for patients and families here and are the primary funder of brain cancer research in NI, supporting PhD students in the Johnston Cancer Research Centre, Queen’s University. Brainwaves NI give those going through a brain cancer journey, their families, and carers, the opportunity to come together and support each other. They strive to increase awareness of brain tumours and the underfunding of research.
