Taking place on Wednesday 25 February from 7pm in the Linen Suite at Mossley Mill Civic Centre, the event welcomes sports coaches, teachers and community volunteers who are committed to making sport more accessible and welcoming for autistic participants.
The Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor Leah Kirkpatrick added,
“I would encourage everyone involved in sport, from grassroots volunteers to experienced coaches and teachers to attend this event. There will be an opportunity to learn about successful best practices and apply these insights within their own clubs. By working together, we can continue to build a Borough where sport is truly inclusive, accessible and welcoming for all.”
Attendees will hear from special guest Adam Keefe, Head Coach of the Belfast Giants, alongside expert representatives from Ulster GAA, Ulster Rugby, and the Irish Football Association. Speakers will share practical strategies, lived experiences, and real-world insights to support greater inclusion within clubs, schools, and community programmes.
This event will equip attendees with valuable tools and knowledge to support autistic individuals to participate fully and confidently in sport at all levels.
