The main event will be a FREE Family Fun Day at Antrim Castle Gardens on Saturday 14 March from 12noon to 5pm. Set in the stunning surroundings of the gardens, the afternoon will feature live music, Irish and Ulster-Scots dancing, as well as activities for children. Families are encouraged to come along and enjoy a relaxed day of themed entertainment.
This event is supported by Choice Housing, Clanmil Housing and The Executive Office through the T:BUC (Together: Building a United Community) programme, alongside Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council.
Also on Saturday, Mr Hullabaloo will host a St Patrick’s themed show at The Courtyard Theatre in Ballyearl. Tickets are £11.50. This lively 50-minute show promises magical tales of leprechauns and fairies, plenty of music as well as a post-show meet and greet.
The celebrations continue on Sunday 15 March at Theatre at The Mill, where The Rapparees will headline an evening concert from 7.45pm. Supported by Glengormley School of Traditional Music, the band’s high-energy take on Irish folk is sure to provide a fitting finale to the weekend. Tickets are £14.
Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor Leah Kirkpatrick, said “These fun-filled events offer a fantastic opportunity for families to come together, enjoy quality time and experience great entertainment across our Borough.
