Mayor Welcomes The Newly Appointed High Sheriff of the County of Antrim

On Thursday 15 January, The Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor Leah Kirkpatrick attended a reception at Lissanoure Castle, Ballycastle to welcome the new High Sheriff for 2026, Mr Rory Gerald Peter Campbell.

At the official Handover of The High Sheriff ceremony, His Majesty The King was represented by the Lord-Lieutenant of County Antrim, Mr David McCorkell, KStJ. Also in attendance was the outgoing High Sheriff of the County of Antrim, Jenny Lendrum, the Deputy Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor Julie Gilmour, the Chairman of the High Sheriffs’ Association of Northern Ireland, Mr Peter T W Mackie DL, local government representatives and members of Mr Campbell’s family.

Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor Leah Kirkpatrick said, “It was an honour to welcome Mr Rory Gerald Peter Campbell as the new High Sheriff of the County of Antrim, and I wish him every success as he serves our communities.”
