Works commenced in early January 2026 and included a comprehensive upgrade of the Centre's car park and pedestrian pathways, with a particular focus on improving accessibility for people with disabilities.
The project involved the full resurfacing and white lining of the car park and surrounding hard landscaped areas, alongside the regrading and resurfacing of pedestrian access routes to both the front and rear entrances of the building. In addition, the Council installed new low-energy external lighting throughout the site and improved the surface drainage system, helping to create a safer, more sustainable and welcoming environment for all users.
Stiles Community Centre is a well-used local facility, supporting a wide range of community organisations and services. Among its regular users is Globe Afterschool Club, which has been delivering after-school and holiday childcare programmes at the Centre for more than 20 years, providing an invaluable service to local families.
The Centre is also home to Home-Start, a long-standing tenant that offers practical and emotional support to families with young children, helping parents build confidence and resilience within the local community.

Stiles Community Centre plays an important role in supporting local families and community organisations, and we are delighted to see these works completed to benefit everyone who uses the centre."
