A new film club is launching this September at The Old Courthouse in Antrim, adding another exciting event to the venue's programme during its 300th anniversary year.
The monthly film club has been developed in response to local interest in more evening activities within Antrim town centre, creating a welcoming space where people can enjoy great films, meet friends or simply relax and enjoy a night out close to home.
Each season will have a new theme, with the opening season celebrating ‘Women in Film’. The club will kick off with the iconic road movie Thelma & Louise on Friday 4 September, and will be followed up with Mary Queen of Scots (Friday 2 October), The Prime Minister (Friday 6 November) and The Woman King (Friday 4 December).
Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor Henry Cushinan, said, " I encourage everyone to come along and support this exciting new programme at The Old Courthouse, it’s a great way to see much loved films and meet new people, all in the heart of Antrim Town."
Also commenting on The Old Courthouse Film Club, Chair of the Arts Advisory Panel, Councillor Billy Webb MBE JP said, "I hope this new Film Club becomes a lasting addition to Antrim's cultural scene, encouraging more people to visit the town centre and creating opportunities for the community to come together."
