Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council shows Support for Armed Forces

Deputy Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor Alison Bennington, was joined by Deputy Lieutenant for County Antrim, Edward Montgomery MBE DL, Minister for Communities, Gordon Lyons MLA, Elected Members and representatives from the Armed Forces community to mark the occasion. The ceremony served as a poignant reminder of the courage, dedication and sacrifice of those who serve, or have served in the Armed Forces, as well as the vital support provided by their families, Reservists and Cadets.

Deputy Mayor, Councillor Alison Bennington commented,

“Armed Forces Week provides an important opportunity for us to recognise and thank the men and women who serve or have served, in our Armed Forces. As we raise the Armed Forces flag, we pay tribute not only to serving personnel and veterans, but also to Reservists, Cadets and the families whose support and sacrifice are integral to the Armed Forces community. This flag serves as a visible symbol of our gratitude and enduring support for the entire Armed Forces family.”
