The award is the Leisure team’s second consecutive year being named Best Service Team of the Year. The Bereavement and Cemeteries team has also received the accolade for the second time in three years, reflecting the consistently high standard of care, professionalism and dedication delivered across both services.

Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey Councillor Henry Cushinan praised both teams for their contribution to this achievement.

I am immensely proud of the Council officers who work tirelessly to deliver high-quality services for our communities. To receive this national recognition is an outstanding achievement and a testament to the professionalism, dedication and care shown by our Leisure and Bereavement and Cemeteries teams every day.

“These awards reinforce the Council’s commitment to delivering best-in-class services and to continually improving the experience of everyone who lives, works and visits our Borough.”
