Newpark Household Recycling Centre

Please read the information below, before you visit.

• What Can be Recycled?
  The following items can be recycled at Newpark Recycling Centre:

  	Dry recyclables (those items that go into your household recycling bin)

  	Glass bottles and jars
  	Mixed cans
  	Small electrical appliances
  	Car batteries
  	Cooking oil
  	Hardcore and rubble
  	Batteries
  	Fluorescent tubes
  	Large appliances
  	Paint
  	Soil
  	Hard plastics
  	Plasterboard
  	Scrap metal
  	Used engine oil
  	Mixed textiles and clothes
  	TV's and monitors
  	Mattresses
  	Carpet
  	Gas canisters
  	Ink cartridges
  	Spectacles
  	Mobile phones
  	Good quality reusable  materials

    
  Unfortunately we cannot accept:
  - Commercial waste
  - Asbestos
  - Tyres
• Health & Safety Guidance When On-Site

  • Only domestic residents from Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough may use this facility. Please ensure you bring photographic ID as proof of residency in the Borough.

  • Please follow staff instructions when on site.

  • Place recyclable materials in the correct container.

  • Take care not to drop any materials on the vehicle or pedestrian area.

  • No scavenging or climbing allowed.

  • Asbestos, tyres and chemicals are not accepted at the sites.

  • Site signage, road markings and safety guidelines must be followed at all times.

  • Park clearly on allocated zones, keeping the pedestrian walkway clear.

  • Children and animals must remain inside vehicles at all times.

  • Please keep within the pedestrian pathway when out of your vehicle.

  • In the interests of health and safety, plant machines including tractors and large vehicles (with or without trailers) may be refused entry to this facility.

  • The Council cannot accept responsibility for loss or damages to property or vehicles while using this site, however sustained.

  • Smoking is restricted to designated area.

  • CCTV operates on site for the safety of staff and site users.

  • The Council reserves the right to refuse admission.

  • If the recycling containers are full to capacity, you may be redirected to an alternative Recycling Centre. Please speak to a member of staff.

• Current Terms & Conditions

  Only residents of the Borough will be permitted to use the Household Recycling Centres. 

  Please ensure that you have your photographic proof of address ready for a member of staff to confirm that you are a resident of the Borough.  If your photographic ID does not include address details, please bring a named utility bill or similar.

  Vans and Trailers are permitted.
  
  Verbal or physical abuse of staff or other users will not be tolerated, and anyone found engaging in such behaviour will be asked to leave the premises immediately.
