Building Control Coronavirus update – Wednesday 25 March 2020

As a result of reduced resources due to coronavirus (COVID-19), to protect staff, families and the wider community, Building Control can no longer deliver normal services.

We will continue to respond to reports of dangerous structures where the safety of the public is a concern.

We currently cannot process any new Building Regulations applications received by post, or those delivered in person to our offices, and have temporarily suspended site inspections..

Our staff are no longer working in our offices, but where it is possible they will be continuing to deal with and answer your queries as much as they can.

We cannot issue any new building regulations notices on new or recent applications, and cannot issue completion certificates where an inspection is necessary.

You may be able to contact our surveyors whom you have been dealing with by mobile or email to discuss matters, but not in all instances. Please bear with us if you do not receive a prompt response.

We cannot accept new property certificate applications at this time, but will continue to process applications previously received and currently in the system.

At this time please do not contact us except for urgent matters as we do not currently have the ability to deal with a large number of queries. The more reliable way to contact us is by email: buildingcontrol@antrimandnewtownabbey.gov.uk

We will closely monitor the situation as it develops and will share further updates on our services as soon as they are available. We appreciate your patience.
