Download Application Form

It is Councils responsibility to determine the name by which a new street or road is to be known.

In accordance with the guidance document which can be found below, it is the responsibility of a developer/developers agent to submit a written request for the naming of a new road/development. The application should include a layout plan of the proposed road/development.

No road/development name should be displayed on site until the Council has approved a name.

After a particular road/development name has been approved Council is responsible for allocating postal numbers to individual properties on the road or street. This is usually carried out as part of the normal Building Regulations application process.

The application form for street naming and postal numbering is available in the Useful Downloads section below along with guidance notes.

Please note that the allocation of Postal Codes is the responsibility of Royal Mail.
