It is Councils responsibility to determine the name by which a new street or road is to be known. In accordance with the attached guidance document it is the responsibility of a developer/developers agent to submit a written request for the naming of a new road/development (The application should include a layout plan of the proposed road/development.) No Road/Development name should be displayed on site until the Council has approved a name Further information is available in the street naming guidance notes below. After a particular Road/Development name has been approved Council is responsible for allocating postal numbers to individual properties on the road or street. This is usually carried out as part of the normal Building Regulations application process Further information is available in the street naming guidance notes Application forms for the above are available below. Please note that the allocation of Postal Codes is the responsibility of Royal Mail.
