Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council Logo

The Be Bright, Be seen campaign reminds cyclists, runners and pedestrians to wear something bright and reflective so they are more visible to other road users in low light conditions. Motorists too are encouraged to be vigilant and on the lookout for more vulnerable road users to reduce the chances of a collision.

Activities

On an annual basis, Year 14 students from across Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough receive a hard hitting lesson about road safety when they attend the Roadsafe Road show in the Theatre At The Mill.

The Road show uses powerful personal accounts of those who have been caught up in the carnage of road traffic collisions and dramatic film footage to deliver the message.

The event aims to have a positive influence on the driving behaviours of 17 and 18 year olds as they are beginning to take to the roads.  It also highlights the difficult and challenging job that our emergency services complete as they assist at the scene of a collision and the personal impact a serious incident can leave with people who work to help us when we need them most.
