Take a Seat in Antrim and Newtownabbey

Age-Friendly Antrim and Newtownabbey is dedicated to making life better for everyone over 50. We believe our Borough should be a welcoming place to live, where you can feel confident and comfortable getting out and about.

We understand that sometimes, a simple rest can make all the difference. That is why we’re introducing Take a Seat, a community initiative designed to offer you a place to sit and catch your breath when you need it.

How it Works

Local businesses and community facilities have kindly agreed to join the scheme. They will provide a seat for anyone who needs a short rest while out shopping or walking through town. All those participating will display a window sticker acknowledging they are part of the scheme.

Please note, you are welcome to sit and rest, even if you’re not making a purchase.

If your business or community facility can provide a seat for anyone needing a short rest while out and about, sign up today:
