Working with Young people aged 9-13 and 14-18 from across Antrim and Newtownabbey.
Communicate effectively and develop a rapport and working relationship with young people. Provide information and support to young people. Challenge oppressive behaviour in young people. Ensure that young people play an active role in the youth group and work towards a model of youth participation. Assist young people to express and realise their goals.

This service aims to reduce feelings of disconnection and isolation felt by the elderly and other vulnerable members of our community.
Calling the vulnerable, isolated members of our community one morning a week. This will be achieved by contacting each person on weekdays by telephone, on agreed weekdays at a pre-arranged time. Every call will cover three main points: a friendly chat about health and wellbeing, providing information on services in the area and forthcoming events and to listen to any concerns and, with permission, signpost to relevant agencies/individuals.
You will need to have good communication skillls, have the ability to empathise, enjoy being part of a team and be dedicated and reliable.
Volunteers will receive training and support.

Fighting Words NI is an arts and education charity for children and young people. Our activities take place all across Northern Ireland. We’re always on the look-out for people who are passionate about helping young writers to find their creative spark. No previous experience is necessary! Coming from all walks of life, our volunteers are as special and engaging as all of our young writers.
Anyone who enjoys working in a creative environment with individuals and groups is welcome to volunteer. You may be involved in practical tasks regarding workshop set up, e.g. arranging seating and equipment to provide the most suitable space for participating groups or you will assist small groups of students as they work on their writing, providing help, advice and encouragement.
