Within our parks and open spaces, there are lots of areas for you to walk and exercise your dog. Click on the below map and zoom in to see which areas of our parks require dogs to be on leads and where they can be exercised off leads. The RED areas show where dogs are excluded The ORANGE areas show where dogs must be walked on a lead of not more than 2 metres in length The GREEN areas show where a dog can be exercised off lead. However in these areas a dog owner may be required to place their dog on a lead of not more than 2 metres in length by an authorised Council Officer to prevent a nuisance, or where the dog’s behaviour is likely to cause annoyance or disturbance to any other persons or animal. You can also click on the drop down menus at the bottom of the page for a full list of areas within the Borough where dogs are excluded and where they are required to be on a lead.
The information in this map is correct and up-to-date as of January 2019, but this may be subject to change.
There are two dog parks located in the Borough at Antrim Lough Shore Park and Valley Park. These fully enclosed dog parks provide a safe and secure space for dog owners to exercise their pets off lead. Each park has an area for large and small dogs and include a full range of agility equipment. Seating is also available for dog owners and water taps are provided at both locations. Please be sure to read the site rules on the gate before entering the parks. If your dog shows any symptoms of being unwell do not use the park e.g kennel cough, vomiting.
