Our parks and open spaces offer many areas where you can walk and exercise your dog.  Use the colour-coded interactive map below and zoom in to find out where they must be on a lead and where they are not permitted.

  • Red Areas – Dogs are excluded
  • Yellow Areas – Dogs must be kept on a lead
  • Green Areas – Dogs must be exercised off lead (Please note an authorised Council Officer may require a dog owner to place their dog on a lead if it is causing, or is likely to cause, a nuisance or disturbance to people or animals.)

For more information, use the drop-down menus at the bottom of the page to view a full list of areas across the Borough where dogs are excluded and where they must be kept on a lead.

You can explore the map to view:

Dog Exclusion Zones – including children’s play parks and recreation areas
Dogs on Leads Areas – where dogs must be kept on a lead at all times
Dogs on Leads by Direction Zones – where authorised officers can require leads

Each zone is clearly marked and colour-coded. You can zoom in, click on specific areas, and view detailed boundaries.
