One of the easiest ways to prevent a fire is to follow the Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service’s ‘STOP Fire’ message:

S – make sure you have smoke alarms on every floor of your home.

T – test those smoke alarms weekly to make sure they’re working.

O – be aware of the obvious dangers in your home. You can find advice about these through the link below.

P – plan your escape route should a fire occur.
