Rural Business Grants

Capital grants up to a maximum of 50% grant rate are available to existing micro enterprises based in a rural area to support them to sustain or grow through DAERA’s Tackling Rural Poverty and Social Isolation (TRPSI) Programme.  The scheme is open for applications between 18th November 2019 and 12noon on 18th December 2019.  Grant aid of between £500 - £4,999 is available for projects costing up to £20,000.

How can I find out about the Grant funding?
To find out more about the scheme, the application, assessment and claims process, you should register and attend one of our workshops:

Is my Business Based in a Rural Area?
Rural areas are those areas with less than 5,000 residents and outside of designated urban areas. In Antrim and Newtownabbey this includes the villages of Ballyeaston, Ballynure, Ballyrobert, Burnside, Doagh, Parkgate, Straid, Templepatrick, Toome and all outlying rural areas.
The scheme cannot support businesses based in urban towns of Antrim, Ballyclare, Crumlin, Glengormley and Randalstown, nor within the Newtownabbey Urban Area.

How do I apply?
The application form will be available to download from this website from Monday 18th November 2019.

Fully completed application forms with supporting documents must be submitted by 12noon on Wednesday 18th December 2019.  Applications in the Antrim and Newtownabbey area should be submitted via email to grow@antrimandnewtownabbey.gov.uk or hand/post delivered to TRPSI Programme, Economic Development Section, Mossley Mill, Newtownabbey, BT36 5QA.  Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.
