Volunteering Bursary Award

As part of The Joan Christie Legacy Bursary Scheme 2023, each year the Council will award two bursaries of £1,000 to young volunteers who play an active role in a group in the Borough. If successful, the organisations with whom the volunteer works will also receive an award of £1,000.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible to apply applicants must meet the following criteria:

Be under 21 years of age on 31 August 2023
Live at a permanent address within the Borough
Have never previously received a bursary from the Council for any reason
Must work as a volunteer in a group that services the needs of those living within the Borough.

Please note: Volunteering bursary applicants must ensure that they have the approval of their group prior to making an application.
