The beautiful Antrim Castle that stood so majestically when built by Sir Hugh Clotworthy in 1613, was damaged beyond repair in a terrible fire on 28 October 1922.
The fire took place when Lord and Lady Massereene and their family were hosting a grand ball in the castle. It was thought it was arson but this could never be proved so no insurance money was ever paid out.
To pay tribute to this beautiful castle and the historic items that both perished and were recovered, we are hosting a number of activities for our residents and visitors to enjoy.
