Show your support for our key workers in this crisis.
“I was truly humbled by the amount of people in our community who opened their doors last week and showed their thanks to our true heroes. It has been a difficult time for our healthcare workers and we know that these incoming weeks will see those challenges raised to a new level. So tonight at 8pm, I urge you to once again stand together as a community as we applaud not just our NHS and healthcare staff, but all the key workers who are keeping our country running throughout this crisis.”
“As a nurse I see at first hand the incredible pressure that our NHS staff are under, risking their own health and spending time away from families to try and help people recover and fight off this disease. I personally was amazed by the wave of support that was shown last week.
I also want to pay tribute to all those within the Borough who are volunteering their time and efforts to provide essential support whether it be preparing and delivering hot meals for those who are isolating, or making essential masks and scrubs for our healthcare workers. The sense of community spirit has been hugely uplifting during these difficult days. I appeal to you all to please help to protect our vital NHS, and save lives by obeying the Government instructions and staying at home.”
