Council Amenities Update on Toilets and Car Parks

A programme of reopening public conveniences at our visitor attractions, parks and cemeteries will see all facilities across the Borough reopened by Monday 6 July

A programme of reopening public conveniences at our visitor attractions, parks and cemeteries will see all facilities across the Borough reopened by Monday 6 July. Following government advice, all public toilets were closed in March as a result of COVID-19.

We recognise the importance of public conveniences, particularly as we reopen our towns, parks and visitor attractions and welcome this news as part of the general relaxation of COVID-19 lockdown rules in Northern Ireland.

Friends and families can now relax and plan an outing at one of our great outdoor spaces and visitor attractions as our facilities continue to be restored.

Further updates to our services include the reinstating of car parking charges which were temporarily suspended in March. Following announcements by the Northern Ireland Executive that non-essential retailers could reopen on 15 June, with cafes, bars and restaurants opening from 3 July, charges on off-street car parking will recommence from Wednesday 1 July.

Customers using the car parks will again have the convenience of using the JustPark app to pay for their parking. This easy to use app, allows payment to be made from the comfort of your vehicle and issues helpful reminders before parking times expire, letting you extend your stay directly from your phone.
