Major jobs boost for Antrim with opening of new Tim Hortons®

Tim Hortons have officially opened their brand new store at The Junction Shopping Complex in Antrim creating between 50 and 75 jobs in the area.

This is the second Tim Hortons to open in the Borough following the successfully opening of the Glengormley branch in November 2019.  The opening represents a significant investment in Antrim Town and brings the total number of stores in Northern Ireland to nine.

The new restaurant boasts a drive thru facility which will provide another easy access option for the growing market for high quality food and drink on the go.

The Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Cllr Billy Webb was delighted to attend a special pre-opening event and commented;

“I am delighted to visit the latest Tim Hortons store in the Borough and it was great to meet with the team and senior officials from Tim Hortons’ UK operation.  This investment will not only provide a significant employment boost for the town but also adds to the growing food, beverage and leisure offering in Antrim securing the region’s place as a top leisure destination in Northern Ireland.”


Steven Norris, Strategic Investment and Regeneration Manager for Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council said;

“It’s fantastic to realise this new branch of Tim Hortons in our Borough in under two years and to secure the new jobs for the town. Council Officers are now working with Tim Hortons on recruitment, linking them with existing council schemes through our Labour Market Partnership. This investment further cements Antrim’s reputation as a Northern Ireland destination for leisure, food and drink.”

“Since first opening in Belfast City Centre a few years ago, we’ve been thrilled with the warm welcome we’ve received from the local communities in each new area that we open a location in. We’re very much looking forward to greeting new guests, and being a closer option for fans of the brand locally.”
