  • Due to recent weather conditions, there have been severe disruptions to collections across the Borough. Crews will be attempting to collect all missed areas on Saturday 11th January.
  • Black/Blue Bins
  • If your blue or black bin has not been collected by late afternoon on Saturday 11th January, please leave your bins kerbside for 7am on Monday 13th January to facilitate collection.
  • Wheelie boxes
  • If your wheelie box has not been collected by late afternoon on Saturday 11th January it will be collected at the next scheduled date. Crews will take overflow bags, one material in each, no glass.

Our Wee Loanends Primary School – Mental Maths UK Champions!

Loanends Primary School P7 class were able to celebrate more than just Christmas over the holidays after coming first place in a UK wide 10ticks Mental Maths Competition.  They even managed to hold on to first place on the GLOBAL leaderboard for the Month of November!

Antrim Lough Shore to go Digital

Antrim Lough Shore will be going digital as an exciting new virtual reality project will see the history of Lough Neagh come to life in the Gateway Centre. This project, in support of the Northern Ireland ‘Embrace a Giant Spirit’ campaign has a combined value of £227K, which will be funded by Tourism NI’s Market Led Product Development Programme.

Nine Community Groups get Funding to Provide Essential Supplies

In March 2021 the Council received almost £100K from the Department for Communities (DfC) under the Covid-19 Food and Essential Supplies Transition Fund.  This was to help set up a more viable way to address food poverty, where some individuals and households are unable to maintain a nutritious diet.  Since then, Council have welcomed almost £100K further from the DfC to expand on this programme.
