Job Fair at Antrim Forum

Over 60 local employers and support organisations from a range of sectors will be attending the Antrim Forum on Thursday 9 November to talk about employment opportunities, apprenticeships and support available at the latest Job Fair in the Borough.

Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council, in partnership with Department for Communities will host the upcoming Job Fair in the leisure centre from 12noon – 3pm with a school’s hour between 11am – 12noon to give our young residents the opportunity to view career pathways.

Funding for the Jobs Fair has been provided by the Antrim and Newtownabbey Labour Market Partnership (LMP) which is funded by the Department for Communities. LMPs create targeted employment action plans for specific council areas, allowing for collaboration at local and regional level to support people towards and into work.

Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor Mark Cooper BEM commented, “This is a great opportunity for our residents to meet local employers face to face and find out more about what roles and pathways to employment are on offer. A range of support organisations will also be on hand to provide help with developing CVs and interview preparation techniques. I would encourage anyone looking for employment, a change of career or support around employability to attend.”

There will be a range of industries represented including manufacturing, healthcare & retail and residents can learn what skills, experience or qualifications employers are looking for.

If you are unable to attend the Jobs Fair, make sure you check out the Antrim and Newtownabbey Jobs Facebook page which can be found at www.facebook.com/ANBoroughJobs.
