A new £35m housing development featuring 187 homes is set for the village of Doagh following approval by Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council Planning Committee.
Work on the new housing, located between Station Road and Burn Road, will bring 50 jobs and apprenticeships to the area during construction.
Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey Councillor Mark Cooper BEM said the village would become even more vibrant thanks to the investment.
Doagh will continue to thrive and grow by welcoming new residents to its vibrant community. The area has been going from strength to strength and will benefit greatly from the arrival of its new residents.
Chair of the Planning Committee Councillor Robert Foster added that the decision will be a boost for commerce in the village.
This approval will bring extra footfall to Doagh businesses and allow more people to enjoy this prime location for residential living.
