Disability Action Plan

The Council is proud to bring forward the Disability Action Plan (DAP) 2020-2025

We are driven and focussed on inclusion within our Borough, regardless of ability, and value what each and every person within our community needs to live an active and fulfilled life.
 
We aim to:

  • promote positive attitudes towards disabled people
  • encourage participation by disabled people in public life

 This ambition is mindful of the Council’s duties under the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 and Disability Discrimination (Northern Ireland) Order 2006.
 
But this plan is intended to do more than meet our legal requirements. It will be our roadmap to delivering a more inclusive society, with more and better opportunities for all the people across Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough.
