  It is located just off the A8 from Sandyknowes Roundabout (M2) to Larne, directly opposite Ballyearl Arts and Leisure Centre on the Doagh Road, Newtownabbey.

  Arriving by car

  Antrim and Newtownabbey Crematorium is located just off the A8 from Sandyknowes Roundabout (M2) to Larne, directly opposite Ballyearl Arts and Leisure Centre on the Doagh Road, Newtownabbey.

  Arriving by bus

  The nearest bus stop is on Carmoney Road North, adjacent to the entrance to Mossley Mill. The Metro Bus 1D runs to Mossley Rail Station opposite Mossley Mill. Details of times and services are available at www.translink.co.uk

  Antrim and Newtownabbey Crematorium is a 10-15 minute walk (approximately 0.5 mile) from Mossley Rail Station.

  From Mossley Rail Station, turn left onto Carmoney Road North, then turn left at the traffic lights. The crematorium is located directly opposite Ballyearl Arts and Leisure Centre on the Doagh Road.

  Arriving by rail

  There is a railway halt (Mossley West) opposite Mossley Mill. A timetable can be found at www.translink.co.uk

  Antrim and Newtownabbey Crematorium is a 10-to-15-minute walk (approximately 0.5 mile) from Mossley Rail Station.

  From Mossley Rail Station, turn left onto Carmoney Road North, then turn left at the traffic lights. The crematorium is located directly opposite Ballyearl Arts and Leisure Centre on the Doagh Road.

  Arriving early

  If you are attending a cremation service, we ask that you arrive at the Crematorium around 10 minutes before the service is due to commence.

  When mourners arrive 30 or 40 minutes early this causes traffic congestion and impacts on the traffic management for those trying to depart after a service. We ask that you show dignity and respect when you arrive as there may be a service taking place. Thank you.

• Parking & Facilities

  Sufficient car parking is provided to accommodate funeral services as well as visitors to the Memorial Garden. There are 107 parking spaces on site:

  • 94 standard spaces,
  • nine accessible spaces,
  • two funeral cortège spaces and,
  • two funeral officiant spaces.

  Overflow car parking is available directly opposite the Crematorium at Ballyearl Arts and Leisure Centre.

  There are two double EV charging points.

  Toilets are available during normal opening hours including accessible toilets and baby changing facilities. A Changing Place facility is accessible with a Radar Key.

• Opening Hours

  Monday - Friday 9am - 4pm

  We believe that providing a respectful and relaxed service is essential and we don’t want families to feel rushed, therefore we will offer a 45 minute service hourly from 10am to 3pm.

• Capacity

  The Ceremony Room seats 176 people, with overflow space available in the lobby and under the Porte-Cochere.

• Music, Tributes, Streaming and Keepsakes

  The ceremony room has media facilities such as music, streaming and visual tributes. Every life story is unique, your Funeral Director will work with our supplier Obitus to help families make the most of every picture, every video and every song so that each funeral service is as special and personal as can be.

  You can select up to a maximum of four songs and a single photo, which are included in the cremation fee. Prices for additional services are provided in the price information. 

  The Crematorium would respectfully request that consideration is given to the fact that Antrim and Newtownabbey Crematorium is a public building. Therefore, we reserve the right to refuse to play music or media that may be offensive to others. This should be resolved with your Funeral Director prior to the content submission deadline.

   

• Arranging a Cremation

  We understand how difficult it can be when you lose a loved one.  That’s why our caring and professional team is dedicated to helping and supporting you when you say goodbye.

  Most funerals are arranged through a funeral director. The Citizens Advice Website recommends you find one who belongs to a professional association, such as the National Association of Funeral Directors (NAFD), or the Society of Allied and Independent Funeral Directors (SAIF)

• Price Information

• Resident Status

  A person may claim resident status by providing proof of residency in Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough in the preceding seven years.

  Proof of residency requires the presentation of official original documents (not photocopies) that confirm an applicant’s address in the Borough, dated within the last seven years and may include:

  • Driver’s licence
  • Ultility bill
  • Bank/Post Office/Buulding Society Statement
  • Credit/Debit card statement
  • Mortgage statement
  • Rates bill

  * Resident status will be established for former residents who had no choice but to relocate outside the borough for reasons beyond their control, related to their care, following receipt of confirmation from a suitable care provider.

  Anyone who is unable to provide proof of residency will be charged as non-Residents.

  The Council reserves the right to check any addresses using the Land & Property Services search facility to determine if the address is within the Council boundary.

  Definition of Resident - a person who has permanently resided in the Borough of Antrim and Newtownabbey in the preceding seven years.

  Definition of a Non-Resident – a person who has not permanently resided in the Borough of Antrim and Newtownabbey in the preceding seven years.
