Our Climate Change all-party Working Group was established in 2020 and we have already made good progress against our plans. Additional resource has been allocated in the form of a Climate Change and Sustainability Officer, who acts as the Council’s Climate Change Champion developing, coordinating and ensuring delivery of actions across a range of programmes and projects to support the delivery of the Council’s aspirations in relation to Climate Change and Environmental Sustainability.
We are committed to drastically reducing our emissions by 2030 and will be doing so by implementing ambitions targets and action plans.
We are in the process of building an action plan based around 5 strategic cross cutting objectives to reduce emissions and protect our Borough from the effects of climate change.
