Antrim Castle Gardens amongst UK's best

Speaking following the announcement, Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Alderman John Smyth said:
 
“Earlier this year we were thrilled when Antrim Castle Gardens beat off some very stiff competition to be named as the Fields in Trust Best Park in Northern Ireland.
 
“This fresh recognition that the Gardens are now acclaimed as being amongst the best in the United Kingdom is a terrific achievement and one that the whole Borough can be extremely proud of.
 
 “On behalf of the Council, I would like to thank everyone who contributes to making Antrim Castle Gardens a truly exceptional place to visit and to everyone who took the time to vote in this national competition.
 
“I hope this well deserved recognition encourages even more people to come and avail of this wonderful majestic setting, ‘The Jewel in the Crown’ of Antrim Town”.
 
“It is thanks to the continued hard work and dedication of the Council and its staff teams that the Gardens are being rightfully acknowledged as an amazing place where residents and visitors can come to relax, play, socialise, be entertained and exercise all year round.”
