Council to increase support for local Community and Voluntary Groups

In light of the increasing costs facing local community and voluntary groups for all funded activities, the maximum award for the Council’s Community Support Programme is set to increase for all approved applications for 2022/2023.

 

In light of the increasing costs facing local community and voluntary groups for all funded activities, the maximum award for the Council’s Community Support Programme is set to increase for all approved applications for 2022/2023. The Support programme provides financial assistance to local community/voluntary groups and organisations to deliver a wide and innovative range of activities and projects that benefit the residents of the Borough.

The following categories within the Community Development Grant Aid Programme will receive an increase in the maximum award for financial support;

  • Small Grants Programme will increase from £500 to £1000
  • Summer Schemes will increase from £1500 to £2000
  • Technical Assistance will increase from £3000 to £10000
  • Community Festivals Fund for less than 5,000 people will receive funding up to a max of £5,000
  • Community Festivals Fund for more than 5,000 people will receive funding up to a max of £10,000
  • Expenditure on Small Capital Items will increase from £300 to £500
  • Premises Grant from £3500 to £5000

Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey Councillor Billy Webb said “I am pleased the Council is offering this additional support to our local community and voluntary groups who do so much for our communities.”
