The Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey has welcomed the step of bringing in support from military personnel to assist Northern Ireland’s Health Service during this time of crisis.
To help improve energy efficiency, Sixmile Leisure Centre has been chosen to be part of an exciting new demonstration project led by Start Solar. The renewable energy company which specialises in a range of renewable energy solutions recently installed 30 solar panels to the large south facing roof of the Ballyclare-based leisure centre. The system has been set up with online monitoring and a generation meter, allowing a comparison between live and historical electricity output.
Community and Voluntary Groups within the Borough who are planning to host Northern Ireland Centenary events or projects could be eligible to receive some funding from the Council.
Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council is encouraging small businesses to apply for a newly available Micro Business Revitalise Fund. The fund aims to help local businesses in the Covid-19 recovery process, with up to £1000 available for each qualifying business.
