On Street Presence

Community Safety Wardens

Support and monitor delivery of Community Safety Wardens Scheme through a high visibility on-street presence, directed by PCSP to address ASB and encourage good behaviour.

  • Deliver a high visibility directed foot patrol service across Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough to discourage crime, low-level disorder, anti-social behaviour and enhance confidence and links with residents and relevant local agencies, and to observe, report, and action as appropriate.
  • Undertake high visibility directed foot patrols supporting all members of the public including those that are vulnerable in all targeted/assigned areas.
  • Patrols operate on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings as a minimum.
  • During these patrols they take responsibility for actively attempting to address anti-social behaviour and low-level disorder through effective engagement with those causing annoyance, and encourage good behaviour.
  • Develop relationships with residents, local businesses, local community and voluntary groups, and statutory organisations to increase community confidence and reduce fear of crime and anti-social behaviour.
  • Provide a visible presence in our communities in order to reduce the fear of crime and reassure local people and help them feel safe.
