Food Safety Schools Education

The Food Safety Team works with schools and further education colleges to promote food safety.

For assistance with The A-Level Home Economics Curriculum, Environmental Health have developed a number of powerpoint presentations that can be accessed below.

Learning Outcome: Food Safety Issues for the Consumer

These presentations were produced by Environmental Health Officers to assist with the delivery of the following elements of the Home Economics syllabus:

  • Explanation of how food safety legislation protects the consumer;
  • Knowledge and understanding of the work of the following organisations:
    • Food Standards Agency
    • Environmental Health Department.

Some of the presentations also produce links to other potential sources of information. The presentations can be delivered by teachers or by Environmental Health Officers.
