Tasty treats on the menu in Council parks

Opportunities to sell food and snacks to be offered at a number of popular locations throughout the Borough.

Do you love a latté? Or perhaps you prefer a ‘poke’? Visitors to our parks will be in for a treat as opportunities to sell food and snacks will be offered at a number of popular locations throughout the Borough.

Catering is currently provided at Hazelbank Park, Sixmilewater Park, Ballyclare and Lilian Bland Park, Glengormley, and new opportunities will be advertised for a further seven locations across the Borough.

Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor Jim Montgomery said;

“Our parks and open spaces have never been busier and have become a haven for many people during the pandemic. Enjoying the outdoors has huge benefits for people’s physical and mental health and we want our residents to spend time enjoying the beauty that lies within our parks. The opportunity to purchase hot drinks, ice-creams and light snacks will certainly improve their experience and one that will undoubtedly be enjoyed by the whole family.”

Opportunities for ice cream vans, hot/soft drinks and light snacks will be offered at; Threemilewater Park, Crumlin Glen, Cranfield, Wallace Park, Market Square as well as Antrim and Jordanstown Lough Shore Parks.
