Huntington’s disease is a rare genetic disease which affects around 285 people in Northern Ireland and around 5 times as many people are at risk of inheriting this disease.

Huntington’s disease Association Northern Ireland (HDANI) works throughout Northern Ireland providing support, information, advice and social connections to those living with the impact of Huntington’s disease. They run regional support groups, provide telephone and face to face advice and support as well opportunities for families to connect through their events and befriending services.

Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor Jim Montgomery said” Huntington’s disease may be rare but it is important that we show our support and help raise awareness of this disease and let those suffering know they are not alone”.
