A talented group of Yarn Bombers, have got you all talking as they have embarked on revitalising our town centres and villages with an array of yarn bomb displays.

Yarn Bombing is a type of graffiti or street art that employs colourful displays of knitted or crocheted yarn or fibre .
Local lady Margretta McCullough and her talented group of ladies’ called ‘Reaching Out’ have been busy with their needles injecting some colour into our Town Centres now that we can welcome you back to our high streets again.

You can see these delightful decorations across the Borough, including Antrim Town, Ballyclare, Randalstown, Crumlin, Burnside and Glengormley.

An additional treat from this creative group include find me keep me tokens which will be randomly placed across our villages with a little message ‘I am not lost, I am just alone. If I made you smile please take me home’.

Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey Councillor Jim Montgomery met up with these ladies as they got to work in Antrim Town. He added “It was great to see these ladies at work, these little fusions of colour brighten up our Town centres like a ray of sunshine, a celebration that we are back in business again and look forward to welcoming you all back to our villages”.

Look out for this group of Yarn bombers at our Spinning Yarns Festival which will run as part of One Giant Weekend on Sunday 5 September at Mossley Mill.
